I thought all winmodems had 2 devices under 'doze .. a "Modem Enumerator"
and then the modem "device" itself ?

Any that I've seen have had something like "HCFMODEM" as a device type under
the ctrl panel, system, devices thingy.

Hmm.. Now that I check my laptop.. it has only a modem device. - But.. a
desk machine with a "Diamond Supra 56k modem" has an "HCFMODEM" device.

My 0.02 worth.
