Well, you could use an XML library, but for that caring touch you could whip
up something in lex/yacc, or use lisp sexps.
(BTW XML *is* lisp sexps, but with horrendously ugly syntax - what's worse
than parentheses everywhere? angle brackets and slashes

AFAIK Qt/KDE also has a library for Win3.1 style .ini files since time
immemorial.
