Hello
I have a mail server on RH7.1 using sendmail 8.11 hosted on the
internet. The problem I have been facing is with sendmail relaying -
By default relaying is not allowed in sendmail ver 8.11 (actually 8.9
onwards) which I have been using where I am not able to allow relaying
for selected domains. I have used `access.db' which has the line :
domaintoallow.com RELAY
but even then when I send a mail thru Outlook Express (Win98) from a
machine which I connect to the internet thru a DSL (my ISP) I get the
following error:
Relaying denied: Lookup failed for 62.10.22.65
The above IP addr is the one which my 98 machine is assigned by the ISP
when I connect.
Whereas if the mails are send thru Netscape there is no problem. This I
cannot understand!!!
If I put this IP addr in `relay-domain' file then mailing starts from
Outlook Express in Windows 98.
What I want is to controll the relaying purely on the domainname
(doamaintoallow.com) i.e. mail users for this domain
(abc at domain domainallow.com) should be able to send & recieve the mails from
anywhere in the world without using the ISP IP addr in my `relay-domain'
file.
(Otherwise I will have to keep on finding & adding the ISP's IP addr for
all over the globe!!!!)
Does anybody knows how to do this?
Thanks
Uday
