Can't help you with your MS-Win2k machine, but bewtween Unix hosts I'd
use "rsync -azx" (or similar) over SSH using a locked-down RSA keypair,
e.g., like this:

My advise: Use /sbin/fdisk to render the Win2k box compatible. ;->
