Hi All,
Okay well I have to install a mail server for a small hosting company.
However I have a few problems.
I would like the server to be the right one for the job. I was
installing Qmail but am having second thoughts as the src seems to hate
RH 7.2 and I don't want to use the RPMS.
Basically the mail server has to be able to do the following
Support Vitual domains and Virtual Users
Be very capable and efficent
Be very Secure
REALLY would / want a mysql backend to it so as to make admin of it
easy.
This box is esentially an ISP mail server at the end of the day. With I
know at least 300 virtual domain and god knows how many users. Some of
the domains are just forwared onto joe at domain emailservice.ie others including
their users are fully hosted on the box. So they will have to access
their mail using POP3. I am reluctant to have to add users manually as
this means big passwd file and pain in the ass. Thats why I would
prefer a MySQL backend (I know PGsql is cook)
Options are;
Qmail with mysql Hack (Pain in the ass to configure but good)
POstfix (Never used will it handle the load)
Sendmail (Hate)
Something else ??
So anyone got any ideas thought about what I should use or how I should
go about this?
Thanks in advance
AJ
