 We had these mad power supplies that allegedly had ten year MTBFs. Four
or more died...all in the same way. A puff of magic smoke, and a big
capacitor was bent in some direction. The box kept going, but Wierd Shit
(tm) used to happen. I personally guessed that the power wasn't being
regulated anymore, so if the ESB sent us bogie power spikes, they were
going straight to the motherboard.

 Cool. Disk throttling. Could it be sensitive to overheating ?
