Hi Nathaniel,

Nice spec system...

-- hda 10.2gb Quantum IDE, hdb 12.4 WD IDE
Hard drives, they should work fine.

-- LS 120 IDE
Bog standard IDE device, Linux should recognise it (not sure though).

-- ZIP SCSI
Am guessing that this is on a SCSI controller. Ignore getting it working in
Linux for now. Later is better ;-)

-- 3 1/2 floppy IDE
This confuses me. The LS-120 is IDE, a floppy drive should be on a floppy
controller. No reason for it to be IDE.
Check this again to be sure.

I don't use Caldera, can't really help with your printer setup. Sorry.

-- Second small problem, my computer crashed while my grand daughter was
-- doing her school work in windows and have lost system Commander and it
-- wont start up anymore, had to install Caldera again, I reinstalled
-- windows but it cant find the operating system now.

You have 2 hard drives. At the risk of annoying the rest of the group, give
the first totally to WinWhatever & the second to Linux.
Then you can play with the Linux install, including wiping it out &
restarting without touching the Win install.
What does it say when booting up? <may be best to mail this direct to me>

Mistakes. Took me ages to get my first Linux installation working. Now to
install Qmail.

Martin.
My outlook (ick!) on this is, get a working system & then play.
