Sounds good - I dont have a huge amount of time myself at the moment
(got exams in school) but if you want a hand with anything specific I'd
love to help

I was working on a howto for the LDP a while ago and ended up not
finishing it because they required docbook and I wasn't bothered
learning a new language, and the software was a b**** to set up.
Personally I use HTML, CSS and PHP for everything I write. For most
things XML is overkill. And it is easy to make PDFs out of HTML
