plip.
go read the plip how-to, or look in the linux source tree for the plip
documentation. on my redhat 6.0 system that is found here:
/usr/src/linux-2.2.5/Documentation/networking/PLIP.txt
in addition the (redhat) netcfg utility can set up a plip connection
for you. other distributions have similar tools.
the only hard part is the cabling: you need a laplink cable or a
converted parallel cable.
