Not joking, "man bash" is a cracking read.
"CSH programming considered harmful" has oodles of good advanced
tips on sh programming, too. Especially in the fd redirection
vein. Mostly because csh doesn't and that's the easiest place to
find something bash does that csh doesn't.
Those should get you started :)
