i had a pc (amd k6) where memcheck86 worked flawlessly for days on end.. but
segfaulted on a kernel compile. solution: tweak voltage settings, bigger cpu
fan/dab of vegetable oil.
if you overclock your cpu, you might need to slightly raise the cpu core
voltage...
else don't overclock.
