I've used parted or gpart to sucessfully resurect partitions in the past.
It should tell you that the partition size does not match the filesystem
size so just note this down, fire up fdisk and re-create the partitions
exactly the same size as parted tells you the filesystem is. A reboot and
you should be seeing your partitions and filesystem again. The I suppose
lilo can be used to make the disk bootable again and Bob's your uncle.
I'm presuming you have some sort of rescue disk or bbc in operation here,
without which you're probably up the proverbial.
