That's pretty darned automated. ;->
You could probably do it with a sufficiently hardware-uniform
set of PCs by having a CDR with Linux kernel whose init process
is a script that dd's a pre-made hard disk image into place, and
then runs a chrooted lilo, umounts and ejects the CD, and reboots.
