[ILUG] O/T: How can you limit the number of replays on a CD?

I realise this is really streching the limits of O/T but I can't seem to find
an answer on Google?

These is an Oasis CD in a Sunday paper this week, and three of the six tracks
will only play 4 times? according to the TV spot? I seem to remember hearing
about attempts at such things, but don't remember any of them actually
working?

As I said, I had a good google for it, but drew a blank. Even the CDROM FAQ's
only list failed copy protection schemes.

(Blatent attempt to stay on topic)
What are the chances I'll be able to rip said 'limited' tracks on my Linux
box?

And, if this works, how long will it be before they start trying to sell us
pay-per-play CD's? I can see it now:
TEEN: I'd like the new Britney single?
CLERK: Sure, thats 1.50 per play. How many times wouyld you like to buy?
TEEN: ???

Cheers,
