I think RH7.2 ships with both openssl 0.9.5 and 0.9.6. The problem, such
as it is, is that openssl-0.9.6.rpm probably has a
"Obsoletes"/"Conflicts" tag that indicates that 0.9.5 should be removed,
or simply has some of the same filenames such as /lib/libcrypto.so.
