Just so ye know:
The existing filters catch about 30 spams and viruses a day. I make
small modifications to the rules every now and then, to try to improve
the hit rate; but I don't want to be getting false positives.
There's a major upgrade to the system planned for some time in the
next few months. This will include a new version of mailman,
spamassassin, amavis, and a bunch of other stuff to keep the list nice
and clean. There'll be a razorlike feedback mechanism for spam
reporting, too. But this isn't going to happen overnight; my best
guess is August or September, so hold your horses until then, please.
The ban on binary attachments really keeps the size of the email down;
a couple of text-only spams per day aren't going to be noticeable even
on the slowest modem, so don't give me any of that guff.
