Arghh ! There is no Cisco 1600 router... There is a
Cisco 1600 series, which has a number of models...
You pick the model nearest to your needs, and you have
the option of installing a WIC (Wan Interface Card)
to fill in the gaps later on if you need it)

Cisco 1601 R - Ethernet, serial, one WAN interface
Cisco 1602 R - Ethernet, serial with integrated 56-kbps DSU/CSU
Cisco 1603 R - Ethernet, one ISDN BRI (S/T interface), one WIC slot
Cisco 1604 R - Ethernet, ISDN BRI (U interface), S-bus, one WIC slot
Cisco 1605 R -- two Ethernet slots, one WAN interface card slot
The WIC cards that are available are ISDN BRI / Serial etc...
So a 1601 with an ISDN WIC gives you serial port and ISDN,
the same 1601 with a serial WIC gives you two serial ports.
If it's just ISDN though, an 801 or 803 should do the job for you.

There is talk about an ADSL WIC for the 1700/2600/3600 series
router (no explicit mention of it for the 1600) so if you were
considering ADSL to the same router at some point in future you
might want to look into the 1700 series also.
The other thing to watch out for is the IOS software set you
go for - it impacts on the features you have available, and
the memory / flash requirements.
