see my osopinion article on this exact topic. other application vendors
are porting their apps. corel will soon be releasing patches that make
kde nearly completely windows-like. the only thing missing is microsoft
applications. and when it comes down to it, they know not to port their
apps because it will weaken their os sales. leveraging one market to
maintain/capture another. afaik that's illegal in the us.
