Kernel.org says 2.4.18 is the latest stable. An earlier posting by someone
says I should upgrade to the latest as it appears to be 2.4.9. Something was
addressed in 2.4.5 allegedly that I want to fix. I only want what is
necessary and was thinking of not using any modules saying N to the modules
question and Y to everything I know I need. Is this ok? Is is possible that
something running as a module before will not work if compiled into the
kernel? Specifically I tried recompiling the stock kernel 2.4.18 that came
with the distro but I had a problem with DHCP and blogd. Any advice here?
