[Ha. Boot a 2.x kernel in 1mb of ram? You jest surely? The minimum memory
footprint for the 2.0 kernels was 4mb, and that rose to 6mb for the 2.2
series. My machine happens to have 6mbs of ram in it, but i also have
another 386 with only 4 that is the next on the list to tinker with.]
1mb of ram... no... I suspect you would be doing well to get smalllinux to
boot in such a low ram environment....
I hate to admit it... as I'm such a slackware troll, but you could probably
do a really small install of something like debian 2.2_r2 on a 80mb disk on
an old 386...
I did... so you can too, and the install was very small 40mb give or take..
though the booting for some reason takes twice as long as slackware 7.1 did
on the same machine <shrug>
You should get something like a 2.2.12 2.2.14 working in 6mb of ram... in
fact I'm almost certain you would...
