2.2.7 onwards supports the 'alternative' USB stack, which is now pretty
much the default USB stack. And as it says on the page,
"Much of USB support has been backported and is available starting with
2.2.18". So you should be in luck with any recent 2.2 kernel :)
(no USB-Storage though => no iPod support)
