I am in the process of switching my servers from
Windows 2000 to RH 7.2. At the moment I'm just doing
IP masquerading for internet sharing, but I want
something more flexabile than that. I was previously
using WinProxy, so I'm looking for something similar
in features.
1) Transparent proxy so all that has to be done on the
client end it set the default gateway and primary dns
server to the linux box.
2) AV scanning for SMTP, POP, FTP, and HTTP. This
thing is serving windows client machines, and so I
would like linux to protect them
3) Caching. While I do have a cable modem, Adelphia is
not the best in performance, so anything I can do to
make the internet less painful to use would be great.
4) Ad blocking. Self explanatory.
5) Content filtering
This is pretty much listed in priority, with one being
vital and 4 and 5 being negligable. Any suggestions?
I'm open to using multiple daemons instead of one huge
package, but I don't want something cumbersome to
configure like BIND.
regards
Hrishy
