I've been invited to assist in testing/debugging some 3D code for a graphics
card I've got. At the moment I'm compiling X from sources provided by a Linux
Format CD from march.

For the testing, I'll need to track the CVS branches of both XFree86 and DRI.

I was wondering if it was possible to to use cvs to update the current
sources I have for XFree86, or do I need to fetch a fresh copy via cvs first?

I know I'll need to fetch the DRI stuff, but if I can just update the XFree86
sources I have, it should save me quite a bit of on-line time.

Can cvs deal with updating sources that are not originally from cvs?

I've read all the doc's on my system about cvs, but nothing deals with this.
