the card should work out of the box with xfree86, as the g200 (and the
millenium II before it) was a very popular card among xf86 users, and i
presume the g400 is the same just better, and it won't break anything.
have a look on dejanews (www.dejanews.com) or just type `g400 linux' in
at www.google.com.
as for 3d in a window and other fancy stuff, wait for xf86 4. if i were
buying a card tomorrow it would be a g400 or a asus v3800 TNT2 though.
