Hiya,
I was wondering what experience people have with wireless network cards?
Especially which ones suit Linux best.
Current set-up:
Smoothwall -> laptop (10Mb) (Windows... and sometimes Linux)
-> PC (10Mb) (Linux... and rarely Windows)
New setup wanted:
Smoothwall -> laptop (wireless) (Windows... and sometimes
Linux)
-> PC (10Mb) (Linux... and rarely Windows)
I am thinking all I need is two wireless cards (one with a PCI adapter). I
don't want to go for an access point due to the expense.
Which cards suit Linux best? Scan currently have Wisecom and Sparklan
listed. Sparklan say they have drivers for the pcmcia card but I'm not sure
about one with a PCI adapter. Is it worth risking it.
If smoothwall doesn't support wireless, I can refit the box with another
Linux distro but would perfer not to.
Thanks,
Tim
