One week off and so much happens.. RH IPOs, their stock shoots up and up
and..
Esat offer flat rate access at night.. time to get that spare machine
networked and a cronjob to dial at 6pm..
Someone rips off Linux.ie for an article! We def. need a disclaimer and
copyright notice for articles and someone needs to write to that
magazine/author about the article.
That Sunday Tribune article was good, but I don't like the way the
author stated that Linus invented the Linux "operating system" without
one mention of GNU or RMS.
Has anyone else here besides Mark Twomey read "Rules for
Revolutionaries"? (thanks for the loan of the book Mark!) Netscape
giving away the source to their browser is covered in one chapter, but
he doesn't mention ESR, RMS, or GNU at all! The chapter was about giving
away stuff to gain market share (and building on standards AFAIR) yet
RMS and his ideas get no mention..
I talked to Mark about that and he said business men just don't want to
know about RMS and GNU but I ask why not? It's another way of business,
radical yes, but..
Donncha.
