ok , i did the following to set up the modem

setserial ttyS0 uart 16550A irq 4 port 0x03f8
rm modem
ln -s ttyS2 modem

now you would think that that would have the modem on com 1,
but still not a peep from the bugger.

I have a mandrake box where the modem works,
anyone have any idea how i can check the settings
on the mandrake box to compare them???

Thanks

Sean
