I got the uncapped package from Eircom and I live in Kilmainham.
Technically it was a doddle to set up on linux (RH 7.3), except for
ipchais which just wreaks my head, but a little sweat and cursing got
it up and running, so al lthe machines on the lan can use it (Now for
the wireless :-)
However it did take 3 weeks for Eircom to sort out their "internal"
communications and to stop passing me around to everyone, sending me
wrong settings, not seting up accounts for me etc etc, apart from
that the technical side of it seems to deliver what it promises
I have to say, listening to shoutcast at the moment as I have been
for the past two / three weeks, its excellent and I have well
exceeded any cap they would have put on it by downloading and
streaming a couple manga movies, and its only been active for about a
I think the bigest difficulty was telling eircom that yes I was a
home use but I wanted the full package and no I DO NOT want anyone
from eircom net to come out and "Inspect" my site (Server room under
the stairs) for €900+.
As a side not anyone seen eircomtribunal.com yet, got a nice write up
on the reg.
P.S. How long will it last :-)
