You need a DOS boot floppy. If you can't make one with W2k, you can
download one (doesn't have to be an M$ one, DrDOS will do fine. You can
put fips on that and do your stuff.

Mind you, if you haven't got too much stuff in your d: drive, it might be
just as easy to empty it, delete it and make a new set of partitions along
the lines of:

1. Dell utility 70Mb Don't delete this
2. c drive 6.5Gb Or this

3. /boot 16Mb linux boot to keep lilo happy

4. extended 23Gb Extended for rest of partitions

5. d drive 10Gb So you can convert one of these for
6. e drive 8Gb linux later when you realise it's what
                                your _really_ want

7. / 5Gb linux root
8. swap 256Mb swap space
