Sorry but that sounds like crap.
Eircom is not Microsoft, it can't 'force', it's clients to use it's ripoff
hardware [1], not for long for sure.
Of course it can use some FUD to try and scare people into using Eircom's
hardware, or just lie/bamboozle their clients into the same, but I doubt
Eircom forcing it's hardware down the throats of it's clients will hold up
to scrutiny in court.
