Just on this point, a friend of mine has DSL from Eircom, and he used his
own DSL modem (Apple thing). No problem. One amusing thing, that
documentation that he got with the installation, say something along the
lines of

"if you are having trouble connecting to i-stream, try using this IP address
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"

where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is an ip printed in the docs. IE. the IP address to
use is the same for every installation..
