Actually, no. I've successfully rolled my redhat-network-covered
machine from 6.2 to 7.3 inclusive by just changing the preferred
version. Not the recommended way of upgrading as I suspect you miss a
few things here and there and occasionally you have to clean up
.rpmnew or .rpmorig files, but it does work. Someone's doing a
third-party version of this that works just like redhat, and there are
a bunch of scripts doing the rounds (including one on my own website)
to do rolling upgrades from the updates.redhat.com mirrors.
