oh that sounds interesting - that doesnt sound as much of a kludge as the
howto I read a couple of months back which sounded like major surgery
on a redhat system to get it working.
ya learn something new everyday i guess..

I've been using it on a RH7.3 box for some time now, and it just works ....
really cool ..
apt was designed to be package manager agnostic ... so can be made to work
with tgz "packages" if you really want ...
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
