it does, but they're block level snapshots - he said filesystem
snapshots. :)

try mounting an LVM snapshot taken of a RW ext3 fs. (there's some
patch or another that lvm and journalled fses need to play nice
together for lvm snapshots -> lvm needs to be able to tell fs layer
"flush this fs" in order to get clean snapshots).
