Go easy on me I'm new at this. First Proper RH installation (Any proper linux
install for that matter)
I've almost successfully set up netscape 7 on this new installation. The
problem is when I run it it wants to go to some registration crap.
Now its online registration, so it goes out to get a connection. But this
connection is blocked by a firewall, because its not routed through a proxy.
this times out and opens the browser, which tries another connection, also
denied by the firewall.
Next thing I do is go into the proxy setup and put in the details. using the
same browser window I can gleefuly waste company time without any problems.
However the instant I close that window the proxy settings are lost to
netscape forever.
Mozilla, Konqueror and Netscape 4.x are working fine, browsing-wise but I need
7 to work with a mailadmin server. that or IE.. but I'mm trying to escape the
evil clutches .. (na na na.. escaping M$ grasp spiel...)
What I'd like to know is there any way of doing either of the following.. and
how do I do them .. Pointing me at docs would be sufficient...
1. Routing all http traffic leaving the system through the proxy (there's auth
required here)
2. Sticking the proxy setting manually into netscape (what file where?)
or
3. Fing a big hammer to break something with.
Thanks in advance
