Hi - I am an interchange (www.icdevgroup.org) user and saw a rather
strange and worrying post on an interchange mailing list about Divine
(www.divine.com), who now own Open market. Apparently an interchange
user has been contacted by divine, claiming that his website infringes
on their patents. The patents in question appear to be:

http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=/netahtml/search-bool.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&co1=OR&d=ft00&s1=''5,715,314''.WKU.&s2=''5,909,492''.WKU.&OS=PN/%225,715,314%22+OR+PN/%225,909,492%22&RS=PN/%225,715,314%22+OR+PN/%225,909,492%22

and

http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=/netahtml/search-bool.html&r=2&f=G&l=50&co1=OR&d=ft00&s1=''5,715,314''.WKU.&s2=''5,909,492''.WKU.&OS=PN/%225,715,314%22+OR+PN/%225,909,492%22&RS=PN/%225,715,314%22+OR+PN/%225,909,492%22

From what i can tell this *shouldn't* stand up as it is too general a
patent, but then "should not" is not the same as "will not".

Yes this has very little to do with linux (other than just about
everybody running interchange is running linux. certainly everyone i've
ever heard of) but i though y'all might be interested all the same.

John
