Hows it going?
I bought a 12 month subscription to wineX there last night, added a
supported graphics card [3DFX not supported] and downloaded the latest
version [rpm format] of wineX.
All grand so far, but no games run whatsoever, Oh I can install them all
right but when I try to run, midtown madness for example it bombs out with
no errors ;--(
$ winex games.exe
$
Thats that! Nothing happens. glxinfo reports that I have accelleration with
the g-force [closed source drivers] and glxgears says I have 2000FPS or
thereabouts.
I also tested wolfenstein and had a game online for the craic. All fine.
Now the only error that occurs is when I tail -f /var/log/messages
Its trying to modprobe synth??? which it doesn't find. I presume this is for
general midi support. My soundboard is an SBLIVE which runs the emu10K1
driver. But I do not have midi configured as I'm not musical.
Has anyone else come across this? And does anyone know the module to load
for the midi on an sblive?
