Knowledge for its own sake is good enough. Besides while most people have
heard of the mcse very few actually know what it means and how useless it is
without experience. I training a few people who had mcse's without any
experience and they're no use at all. We're talking about not being able to
do basic network troubleshooting such as whats you ip address!

The Sair Exams are great and I am certainly learning a lot from preparing
for them. However an informal poll of employment agencies here in NZ shows
that no-one I have talked to has ever heard of them. I actually have a URL
to the SAIR knowledge matrix on my CV. I guess it depends on whether one
wants certification for the skills or to enhance one's "employability". SAIR
need to do a bit more marketing IMHO.

Regards,
Andrew.
