Ah. Didn't know that about the fbsd sed. Handy, if a little dangerous in
the wrong hands.

The advantage of doing "copy file"->"modify file, writing back to
original file" is that you end up with the file you want being changed,
and the old version being backed up in case you screwed up, with the
minimum of file copies/renames etc. (Not directed at you niall, just a
general comment).
