I came in this morning thinking exactly the same thing:) however the
problem seems to have mysteriously vanished... Hopefully i wont run into
any more but i'll have to keep an eye on it. The change in hardware
doesn't seem to be entirely appreciated (certainly win2k wont boot no
more - it just bluescreens).
On a related note - and you may know the answer to this - when i halt my
system it doesn't automatically switch off. I'm pretty sure it's
supported by my hardware - this is a brand spanking new msi motherboard
(kt3 ultra2). I'm thinking maybe, because the old hardware wouldn't
support it, the shutdown scripts dont have a call to actually switch the
computer off in them (i could be way off here). Any ideas about where to
look and how to put it in?
thanks
John
