my prism1 based card also comes up as an eth device.

i think you'll find that the pcmcia-cs scripts have the answers you
need for how to configure the devices. in addition, look to the tool
iwconfig for a way to detect wireless vs. wired cards.

i suspect that wireless cards will come up as ethN more often then not.
