Hi,
I have the installed GNOME on my system (well it installed with RH6.0)
but I am having some problems with it. When I run X as a "standard" user
everything works fine but when I run it as root the panel keeps crashing
(and sometimes restarting).
When it doesn't restart automatically I have to restart it from the
terminal and
get the following error messages when it crashes the next time:
===================
ignore_x_error called
Gdk-ERROR **: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
serial 148596 error_code 3 request_code 15 minor_code 0
aborting...
Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x240006d unexpectedly destroyed
Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x240006c unexpectedly destroyed
Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x2400034 unexpectedly destroyed
Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x2400033 unexpectedly destroyed
Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x2400032 unexpectedly destroyed
Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x2400030 unexpectedly destroyed
Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x3000006 unexpectedly destroyed
Gdk-ERROR **: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
serial 698 error_code 3 request_code 10 minor_code 0
aborting...
==================
Has anyone seen this type of behaviour before, and more importantly does
anyone know a fix for it?
Thanks,
John.
