[ILUG] BeOS on PCPlus Magazine

I realise this is slightly O/T, but with all the other discussion about BeOS, I
just thought I'd throw in my bit. I just noticed that The latest issue of PCPlus
Magazine has a BeOS bootable CD on the cover. Apparently it is similar to a
Linux distribution where the OS boot from CD and uses the CD as the root file
system, so you can try it without installing anything on your PC. I'm going to
give it a try. I've been interested in BeOS as another alternative to Windows,
but it seems a little to new for my tastes right now. Besides, with Windows
using 2 G and Linux using the other 4G of my hard drive, I really don't have
room for another OS right now. The concept of a fully Object Oriented OS seems
interesting, but I'll reserve judgement until I see it in action. On a related
note, can Linux read or write to Be Filesystems? What filesystems can Be
recognise? I think Linux holds the record for number of filesystems it can
access. This alone make Linux good for multi-platform testing. I'll offer my
opinion of BeOS once I get the CD and try it out. I just might get another hard
drive, just to see how many Non-M$ OS's I can have on my PC.

Cheers,
