We had some problems about 10 years ago with Amstrad PCs. As manufacturers
of radio equipment our test area was receiving interference from the
Amstrads. We sprayed the inside of the CPU and monitor cases with 'RF
Proof' paint. We got arcing inside the monitor between the HT connections
to the paint. Fortunately no damage was done and we had to apply a thick
layer of lacquer on top of the RF paint around the HT areas of the monitor.
Be careful what you do.
Monitors side by side seem to interfere with each other with horizontal
lines slowly drifting up and down the screens. Modern monitors don't seem
to suffer this so much. Have you seen the TV coverage of the DIRT inquiry
on the news. They have a row of monitors side by side facing in opposite
directions. That looks like fun.
Back to magnetic interference. I find it hard to believe that the dart line
30m away is causing the interference. Also, I thought the dart used DC.
I don't know...

"I don't know if it's of any help without more details, but I do remember
that Amstrad PCW users used to have problems with magnetic shielding of the
system. The suggested solution in many magazines was to spray the *inside*
of the monitor with a metallic spray - I thought it was aluminium. Now,
despite being a physics student, my knowledge of magnetic fields is *very*
sketchy and I can't tell you off the top of my head if this would work or
not. I do know that the capacitors inside have a very high charge on them
though, and if you're not too familiar with taking monitors apart, it might
not be a very good idea i.e. DON'T take the cover off if you're not
absolutely sure what you're doing - I don't want to be sued!!"
