    howdy,

i have 3 email addresses and i join 15 mailing list.
so i would like to use all of the in one mailer (i.e Mutt). is that
possible? can you explain to me how it will work in my linux, i dont use
x-server cause my mechine is so slow (386-4mbRAM), so i realy like it work
    in CLI.

Personally, I wouldn't use fetchmail, since each time it polls the mail
servers it sends an unencrypted copy of your password on the nework
segment. I have through unfortunate experience realised the flaws of this
(someone snagged it with a packet sniffer and caused me no end of bother
with a sysadmin). A better solution, if it's feasible, is to set up
sendmail on your machine, and have the other accounts forward the mail
directly to your machine.

For example, I have three mail accounts on mail servers in college, and on
each of them I have an identical file called .forward, which contains the
line
dave at domain karpov.eeng.dcu.ie
which is my account on my computer in college.

You can also use various rules to split the mails into their various
directories, and send unwanted spam to /dev/null. I think this is done
with a file called .procmailrc, and the man pages are procmailex and
procmail. The rules can get quite complicated, but for a job like
splitting mailing lists, you can use some simple rules like the ones in
the early part of the sendmailex manpage.

sorry my lang, im 14 years old indonesian, and a newbie.

Good to have you :) Start them young, that's what I say.

Cheers,
Dave.
