linux on SGI MIPS isn't quite there yet. see www.linux.sgi.com. No X,
no support for most of the fancy hardware that makes SGI's so cool.
eg, the Indy has onboard:
ISDN
PAL/NTSC outputs
Digital audio in/out
picture grabber
Ethernet
IRIX is pretty nice from a users perspective. One of the coolest
window managers going. Nice filemanager, etc. Loads of graphical
admin tools. However it is reputadly insecure. And the later IRIX
versions added a lot of bloat.
