Well, what's said there is only very much for starters, and is only one way
of tackling the problem. Another easier method of having multiple front-end
machines is to use a traffic distributor or a layer 4 switch or something.
The real problem with high-volume email is not how to put up that many boxes
as a front-end, but rather how to configure them so that they can handle the
traffic that's put through them. That's where the real fun starts.
