can anyone tell me what is the name of the file which needs to be
changed to allow root get FTP and telnet access ?

I know it's a security risk, but the network has no exrternal
connections anyway.

I know there is a file, but even though I have looked through a few
books (and man pages) I can't find any reference to it.

On the subject of man pages, what gives with all the warning messages
like "this man page is no longer being maintained, please use . . .
instead."
