Probably not, actually... You only get a telnet
server at the remote end when you connect to the
default telnet port (23). When you connect to a
mud, you're getting the MUD's own server.

Back when I MUD-ed, the MUDs didn't implement anyt
of the telnet protocol. In that case, the AYT
command will be ignored (and may confuse the
MUD).

It is possible, of course, that modern MUD servers
implement the telnet protocol...
