I'm not all that interested - I take a dim view (I believe like most experienced
professionals) of these certification exams, going right back to the days
of Novell's CNE. CNE and MSCE qualifications are best obtained by mugging like
hell for the exams, and this naturally has led to a thriving industry in
producing training courses (classroom based and otherwise) whose sole purpose is
to pass the exam. I have very little doubt that a similar crop of RHCE courses,
books etc. will soon appear. I can't of course comment on the quality of Global
Knowledge's courses but I surely hope that the course is better than their
web pages which alternately say that the RHCE fast track course (RH300) is five
days including the exam, or that you should do the exam (RH302) after attending
the course, or that there is no relevant examination - which is it guys ?
Pardon my cynicism, but look before you leap here, especially if it's going to
be a £1000+ leap (and do bear in mind that when they discuss pricing, they're
talking sterling). If your employer's picking up the tab, fine, but if you're
investing your own hard-earned in hopes of buying a meal-ticket, be careful out
there.
Kindest regards,
